Managing Par 3's
Birdie, or Bogey?
Lets talk about par 3's. You can kill a good round with a bad par 3. Now say you get to a tee box with a nasty left to right wind with the green slopping to the right, with the pin placement on the left side of the green. Same goes for the opposite direction.
What should you do in these situations?
Well find a way to get a birdie. Don't chase the hole and try to get a Hole-N-One. Not every par 3 is going to be easy to get an ace. Yes everyone wants an ace.
Don't chase the hole it can hurt your score
What I would do is cut the ball into the wind and just try and stick the middle of the green or near the hole. You might need to use extra club as well. Then Putt it in and move on. It will take practice to know how much you should cut the ball into the wind. Its better to take a birdie or par then Bogey or double Bogey.
Does this help?
